On June 25, 1973, Greg Ikemire began his career at Peoples State Bank in Newton. During his tenure as an employee, Greg advanced to become the President/CEO and served the bank in that capacity for 30 years.
Although Greg retired from his role as President in January 2016, he continues to serve as a director of the bank and over the last seven years has served as Board Chairman. Greg has made immeasurable contributions to Peoples State Bank’s employees, shareholders, clients and the Jasper County community throughout the years.
Prior to the board meeting in June, Greg’s accomplishment was formally recognized and he was presented with a gift and plaque to commemorate the occasion. Greg’s wife, Susan, and son, Kevin, were able to attend and be a part of the celebration. Greg and Susan reside in Newton and in addition to their son Kevin, they have two daughters, Kristi Stone and Kelly Engstrom, and three grandchildren.
I could not have asked for a better predecessor and mentor than Greg,
said Stacy Moore, Peoples State Bank President. He was incredibly supportive during the transition and is an invaluable resource as a member of our board.
Former Bank EVP/Senior Credit Officer, Mark Dougherty also celebrated his 50th anniversary in banking this year. Mark thanked Greg for his dedication and leadership throughout the years.
